I'm finding myself really uncomfortable with the way some of the chaps of our acquaintance (and on the news) are addressing the whole issue of the teaching assistant wearing the veil. People seem to see no inherent contradiction between the criticism of the veil as a way of refusing to integrate with British society, and the fact that she was a teaching assistant in a Church of England school. How much more integration do you want?
